Static magnets vs. Pulsed magnetic field.
What is the difference and why pulsating magnetic field is preferred in treating overall health.

Use of magnets associated with better health and healing has been studied long.
Products like magnetic bracelets, magnetic soles, magnetic necklaces and magnetic mattresses are both widely available and widely used.
It is important to understand the difference between static magnets and a pulsating magnetic field (which is dynamic) to achieve the desired therapeutic results.

Have you ever tried to push two magnets against each other?
The resistance you feel is a magnetic field. These are static magnets and the field you know as resistance when you try to push those against each other will be there regardless of whether the magnets are pressed against each other or not.

Pulsating magnetic fields requires no physical magnets.
Coils of copper contained inside a mat or a treatment wand conduct the magnetic field formed by the current.
The result is a dynamic and much larger magnetic field.

Static magnets have a set magnetic field- it is unchanging.
The body can become accustomed to static, non-moving, magnets.
Therefore static magnets are often stronger, and must be used for a longer period of time to achieve its effect.

Therapeutic use

Static magnets are mostly used on acupuncture points.
These magnets vary in strength from about 500 Gauss to more than 3000 Gauss in intensity and are applied to points located up to 10 mm below the skin.

A pulsating magnetic field, however, can penetrate the whole organism and create a cascading effect on the cells inside the body.
Because the magnetic field is dynamic, the body will not get accustomed to the treatment.
That is why long-term treatment with pulsating magnetic field is effective.
Treatment with pulsating magnetic field can also be carried out at a lower intensity and the treatment may last shorter in time.

There are studies of several different signals and types of magnets (both static magnets and pulsating magnetic field) showing effect.
Some argue that only a specific signal or intensity will give the desired clinical or biological effect, but there is no clear research on this.
Due to insufficient evidence, it is clear that the same biological results are obtained using various signals.
Laboratory Systems has measured identical responses to both static magnets and pulsed magnetic fields.

Studies of the part of the muscular system that makes muscles work and relax better ("The Ca2 + / Calmodulin-dependent myosin phosphorylation system") has been extensively studied with both static magnets and pulsed magnetic fields.
An example shows that the use of a 450 Gauss static magnet and a 0.2 Gauss pulsed magnetic field both accelerated phosphorylation (a process which helps to turn «off and on» cell processes) of several enzymes and other cellular processes) by nearly twofold.
Similar results have been obtained for nerve cell growth.

The difference between static magnets and systems with pulsed magnetic fields must be better documented.
Nevertheless, it seems clear that static magnets are limited to acupuncture points and other local superficial points, while use of pulsed magnetic field is the preferred treatment method.
